In order to fully appreciate the Frank Fahey Motorsports principle, I want to share with you my roots in development and fabrication.
When I bought my first BMW, a 1978 530i, I immediately recognized it's untapped potential and began improving it for better performance and handling. I sold the 5 series after a few years and bought a 1978 633csi. I highly altered the 6, including turbo charging and methanol injecting the engine and adding a more than 1,000 cubic inch air to air intercooler. With tremedous alterations done to the internals of the engine, the engine was able to rev to 8,200 rpm and live in everyday driving on the street. It was in this car that I won the Virginia City Hill Climb and averaged more than 25 miles per gallon on the round trip from San Diego to Nevada.
I sold the 6 and in 1985 bought my 1980 M1. What I envisioned that first night you can now see on my web site. This car was highly altered in every aspect and was well worth the endeavor.
